I bandaged it before I thought to get a picture, but you can generally see that it was the end segment.

Well fortunately they can get by with a shortened wing. I would keep betadine and plain antibiotic ointment on the stump.

It looks like much of the one foot showing may be partially lost from the frost bite, ar least to the tops of the toes. When you get a chance, can you take another clear shot of the feet and legs? It really helps us to see how much damage there will be. It also helps others who read this thread for help with frostbite. Every winter we see a lot of frostbitten toes or feet, and with some help, they can live a fairly decent life with a disability.

Sorry bout the lack of response. I'm in sw iowa just off the Missouri river... lots of flooding. Waters are receding but still lots of water around. Anyway it's was kinda calm so I jumped on here quick. Keep, as he is called, is doing well, although the growing at 6 30 this morning was quite the test... the really blackened section of his right foot has finally all fallen off, and he is trying to move about more. The other foot that had less damage still has two toes that are black and we are waiting for the loss of those. He is still inside and should we have to evacuate with this next round of flooding I'll be taking him with me, as I want to keep on eye on him yet and make sure there are no more complications and to see how well he is adapting.
