Roo or hen?

I may have posted this before, but as they get older I lose track! It's rooster soup prep day tomorrow so I want to get this right.14 ish weeks.

The only thing that comes to my mind is LIE.

Spare a life.

But I am also a realist. I shore do eat lotsa chikn. (mispeled on purpus). But from the grocery store and KFC.

nah. This guy will be delicious if he's a roo. And you can't go wrong with an automatic chicken plucker

He is definitely a guy and I hope he makes lovely soup.

Even though I don't eat any of my chickens, I am supportive of peeps that raise their own or buy straight run and eat the cockerels when still young and tender. Economically, it is not supposed to make sense, compared to raising broilers. I think it is much worse of Idea to eliminate baby chicks just because they are not hens at say 3 days old. I believe they were intended to be food for us. I know, unless they are broilers, they will be slightly smaller/thinner/leaner.
