Hi, I have a golden laced Wyandotte about 7 or 8 weeks old and I was wondering if it may be a rooster? It’s very mean and had very thick legs. I’m a first time chicken owner and my chickens were purchased at a store. Also, if this is a rooster, will it need a separate house or can it live in the same coop with my flock.

A rooster lives with the flock. Only time you have issues, is when there are more than one roosters. In a large flock multiple roosters do tolerate each other. Small flock, not so well.
The only problems that arise when keeping roosters and hens together, is the feed.
If you switch to layer feed, which is 4% calcium, that feed is too high in calcium for rooster. Easiest solution, is to feed Alflock ,Feed. which is 2% calcium. Your hens will need more,,, so offer cracked oyster shells free-choice. Hens will supplement their calcium need from there.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome
