This is our 19 week old Green Queen/King from Meyer Hatchery.

Do you think roo or hen?

We thought roo but we haven’t heard any attempt to crow. Which that might be normal. Also we thought he had a much skinnier bottom than all the others.

So what do you think?

I am curious what did you see that made you think pullet?

What do you look for at this age for a roo?

We were hoping for a roo?
I don't see any male specific feathering, they usually come in around 12 weeks in the cockerels. The male specific feathering is the hackle, sickle, and saddle feathers, they will start to be pointy and curve downward at about 12 weeks old.
I'm also looking at the comb and wattle development, I would expect much bigger wattles and a bigger comb at 19 weeks.

Thanks for the info

I was thinking the same thing about the wattles and comb but I have an olive egger pullet that is 3 weeks younger and has the biggest wattle and comb of all the chickens😂😂 So I thought maybe green queens are different🤷‍♀️

I got her from a hatchery. And she was sexed and banded.

This is her.

It looks like it could be a hormone imbalance, so not sure on gender.
