Do you have any other mature birds apart from Truffles and Triffle?

I do not. He is our only lead roo and Truffles is our only lead hen until the rest are old enough to be merged. My sister does have mature hens at her house but I don't think her rooster would appreciate me bringing Trifle over for a ''visit.''

The mother hen must either be separated from the chicks or a new adult he must be introduced. The risks with the first one is she might actually start getting aggressive towards the chicks after the next reunion once she no longer cares for them and might not even recognize them or care. The second one can lead to a fight between the adult hens, typically a newcomer hen is too insecure and skittish and would probably flee during the early fight since she has not established her territory and isn’t willing to fight seriously. But generally with western chickens fights aren’t as brutal and most western breeds aren’t even well equipped to kill each other. “Except for game fowl” but you’d have to be intentionally looking for one to end up with a game fowl hen.
