Roo went after my 5 year old.....

I don't find this offensive at all. Actually one of the reasons I like chickens is there's no overpopulation problem. You either rehome it or you eat it. Or someone else eats it. No worries about breeding, either, which is (frankly) FUN.

(The reason I asked about craigslist is you're in my enck of the woods and I'm meeting a lady tomorrow to give her our RSL cockrel.)

It's funny you say that abo9ut the crowing. Our roo does the "cock a doodle doo", then at the end goes "eeerrrrrhhhhh" a little quieter. Cracks me up.

Poor edward the naughty rooster.

yes. Many times in fact. He has been kicked across the coop and run everytime he does it to DH and I.

Nothing happened with CL's so I think eddie will "meat" his maker later today.

I know this is sad, and very hard, but remember - he *attacked* your daughter. You've been more patient than the average bear. I would have snapped his neck on the spot. No second chances when it comes to my kids. Good luck.

nope...no pecking why?

Well, someone called tonight and is coming to get him tomorrow. says he wants to use him for breeding....

I guess whatever he does, it will be out of my hands....I am just feeling guilty.
His girls will be sad.

Should I expect anything from the girls after he leaves?

fwiw: our hens didn't seem to notice when we carted off the roo. they were only about 4 months old and hadn't started mating (or whatever you call it when birds do it) yet, though.
