Hello, I am the new Dad of "Jack and Jill", a mating pair of Indian Blues.
They were 18 months old approximately when I acquired them in November 2016 and this year Jack has already started to Molt. (its April 10th) Last year he molted in August/Sept. Any reason why he's molting so early?
I have tried to research and the one thing I see, is that I may have induced it, due to a heat lamp in their pen all Winter, trying to help keep them warm but I am seeing that this may have created confusion for the normal molting cycle. I have also learned they need to be wormed approx. every 90-120 days.... what is the best way to worm them? They free-range and they also have a 10x10 pen (four 10 ft panels with wire) with a metal roof over them with large branches to perch at night.
They are provided fresh water and a high protein mixed diet. I reside in North Carolina near Charlotte. We have 51 acres and a lot of woods.
Any wisdom is appreciated and thanks in advance
