It is rectangular 7' deep x 10' long I will be putting in the roost on the one of the 7' endsMaybe I missed it, but how big is your coop, in feet by feet?
Dimensions and pics would help us help you.

7x10 and I have 13 birds ordered....12 hens 1 rooster, I live in the middle of nowhere so he can make as much noise as he wantsMost of the time the birds fly up and down from their roosts, though some breeds and/or individual birds are poor flyers and need a ramp. I do have a ramp in my coop that gives them access to both one end of the roost and to the nests since I had a Brahma who flew like a concrete block.

Yes, this information would indeed help.
And the number of chickens in question.
If you have it on another thread, I have trouble remembering these details from one thread to another.![]()
I also prefer an L or U shape for easy access to my flocksince I have a window on one side
I'll get some taken shortly...I have to get all my tools out of it!! LOL I been keeping my saws and things in there to keep them available when I have some time to work on it. My Omlet door is supposed to be here today of tomorrow according to tracking and I have some 48" hardware cloth arriving anytime to fortify the roof inside and the walls then the inside walls will commence. and hopefully be completed in the next week or so. My run is going to be a 10x20 chain link dog pen that I picked up from the marketplace and it will be fortified with hardware cloth as well. That's a good amount of space per bird. Can we get some pics of your coop? I think it's great that you're covering all the bases before you get your flock, just want to check out your ventilation because this has me curious.
