I think I have read that a rooster can live 6-8 years. But I don't know how long they can be fertile. Do they slow down, stop or continue on until they die of old age?

The experts say, that a rooster is best when young for fertility, life span depends on alot of factors but 6-8 would be common. I'd give em at least 3years before you bring in a new one . And or if fertility drops.
