Rooster ate foam tape weather stripping!!

My Cinnamon Queen cockerel ate a piece of foam tape weather stripping! I couldn’t get to him fast enough to take it away. He had pulled it off the door of the coop. It was about two inches long. Will he be able to pass this? I’m freaking out!!

Last winter I had a bantam Araucana pullet do the exact same thing. She was fine.

How did this happen?

He pulled a piece of it off the top of the coop door. I added the stripping because of a small gap, to prevent a draft.

I just pulled the rest of it off. I don’t think the itty bitty gap will be much of a problem.

I’ll bet he’s gonna be fine. He’ll grind it all up in his little gizzard. I believe that stuff is pretty inert. Birds eat all sorts of stuff. I found a couple links of a metal necklace in a broiler’s gizzard this summer. It’s amazing what our birds consider to be edible.

He should be fine. It's a pretty small piece and at least it's not anything sharp. Glad you removed it before he went back for seconds!
