rooster cochin or dominant hen?

Sad but you're probably right. Good thing is we have a friend who lives in the boonies who has like 20 chickens and they will take a rooster so long as he's not aggressive, and our Cochins are very mellow birds

That's nice you have a good home lined up for him. Hopefully the rest of your chickens are pullets.

Hopefully someone can help me. I have 4 cochin also and I'm not sure if they're roos or hens. They're 3 months old. Sorry but first time chicken owner here.

I had the same issue with my Cochins, until today. I kept thinking one was gonna be a roo and one a pullet, simply because one was larger and had a bunch more feathers (born the same day). They both squared off against each other in the yard and had a bluffing test. Hackles all fluffed up, necks stretched out, bobbing up and down, quite a show. Neither would back down until a rogue Americana rooster ran up to "join the fun." They are exactly 7 weeks old.
I have also have three 7 week old silver laced Wyandotts and they look exactly like your birds. Predominately white head, nice black and white feathering, plumper then the Cochins. Not very friendly but definitely not aggressive. I'm betting mine are pullets, and so are yours.
