I saw someone posted they handle and coddle all their roosters and don't get "many" idiots. They said they consider it a more effective means of judging their true character.I guess I’ve been breaking the rules!
I hold my roosters even more than my hens... Cowboy, my 3 year old rooster (handled since day 1) hasn’t even shown any aggression towards me or anyone else... Also my cockerels don’t act crazily like I’ve seen (I.e. aggression). I’ll continue to be a “rooster hugger” until further notice

I thought that is an interesting take... and maybe worth considering.

However... I KNOW very deeply the hurt of having your favorite sweet "rooster" who naps on your lap suddenly turn into Satan spawn and start attacking, stalking, crowing AT, and making life a general hell for the well intention-ed uninformed keeper.
It's awesome to see the different experiences!
