I was reading the comments of the article and I found this. It cracked me up so hard, considering how uneducated this person seemed about chickens

"Why does everyone here feel so dang sorry for an ugly rooster. It's a flipping bird that was genetically altered to fertilize chickens. Did you ever see a chicken or rooster in the wild?? They are man made you fools. Go eat your tofu."

*Facepalm* Roosters are chickens...

That article makes it sound like the roosters are plucked first, then killed. This is *usually* not the case. Generally, the birds are killed first, then skinned and the feathers are sold on pelts that have been cured.
