Rooster has frostbite on comb and SEVERELY swollen waddle

Some of the swelling may be on the outer tissue, so the draining may not have affected it. Some fluid left in the tissues would be desirable to protect the tissue as it heals.

He may be a bit shocky from his pain. If you have some Gatoraid, let him have some. The sugar and electrolytes will restore some of his energy, and maybe that will affect how he holds his head.

Also, offer him some chopped boiled egg. He needs energy from protein.
 
I just use Sav-A-Chik for electrolytes..has some vitamins too.
Usually mix up a quart so they all get a bit:
1/2 tsp powder to 1 Qt water.

He can't eat or drink because of his waddles. I have to syringe him fluids.
