this is him today ,right now I'm getting ready to clean him up and apply more meds, afterwards I'll post another picture

Hello Richard ( my rooster) seems to be doing better,IV been giving him Pedialyte from a syringe and he's taking that down good, day 2 he would not eat yet ,day 3 ,today I put some soft gravy like cat food in a syringe and fed him this way and it worked also the electrolights.so he's standing up now and yesterday when I came home he was walking around a little.Yes I have him away from others,in a dimly lit area.with a super soft fluffy blanket to rest on and keep him snuggly warm.i believe he's as comfortable as I can get him to be.I have been putting neosporine on his head wounds ,it's for pain and has antibiotics in it .seems to be doing well.now it's the wait time to heal.thats a bit nerve racking but I know it's gonna take some time.so I keep the nerve racking hidden deep inside .Thank you for chatting with me and being there.that has helped me out a lot.GodBless you and your kindness
I’m so happy to hear he is doing better! Great job with him!! Hang in there. I do have to tell you, though, please use a neosporin without pain relief in it. The kind with pain relief in it is poisonous to poultry. He is likely fine right now, but discontinue use and find one without pain relief. I’ll post more, I just wanted to get that out to you immediately. @Noralynn

Poor guy! He really went through the wringer! As I was saying, you’ve got this, you’ve likely gotten or are getting him through the shock, which is critical, keep going. Now to nurse him through the wounds.

You can apply a warm compress to his eyes to try to get them to open if they are crusted shut with blood. The rest of the head wounds you can rinse with a saline or wound spray and continue covering in neosporin or another triple antibiotic ointment a few times a day as you have been. Just be sure it’s the kind without pain reliefs :) You can even apply the ointment around or on his eyes if they’ve been injured. If his eyes have been pecked, you can purchase terramycin eye ointment, too, to put on his eyes. It is available at most farm supply stores.

From the initial attack, I do wonder if he may have suffered head trauma. I don’t know if you meant internal, like brain or not, but I do not know much about treating that, but let me tag some of the educators. They may have some more advice on head trauma and additional treatment for you.

It’s okay, it’s okay! You’re mainly just looking for ingredients with pain relief that end in -caine. Ingredients for pain relief ending in -caine are the poisonous part. I’m sorry, you’ve been through enough, I should’ve started with that. Without being able to see what is in the ingredients, the recommendation is just not to use it. I believe some may have -caine ingredients and some may not. You’re doing a great job with him.
