Yay I took a warm pack to his eye and it worked his eye come out open and he is chowing down right now as we speak as I say this I'm just so happy I'm he's like almost normal acting again this is just great thanks a lot I'm so glad for your sharing this info with me THANK YOU
He's already eating a handful of blueberries some corn some soaked corn and some black boiled seeds and I think I just heard him burp a little LOL so I'm very happy this is this is my Richard eating good
Aw sweet boy. Glad he’s eating well! You might try taking some of his chicken feed and wetting it down into a mash. My ladies think that is a real treat! And it might be easy to eat with a swollen face because it’ll be nice and soft for him.
Now my rooster's doing even more better A lot better since 15 minutes ago since I applied that warm pack to his eye and he was able to open his eye and now he's just pigging out and acting normal a little more so thank you everybody for every information that you shared with me it means a lot and I appreciate it you don't know how much I appreciate it I love my Richard so much and this is just awesome I'm just on cloud 9 right now thank youView attachment 3973419this is him today ,right now I'm getting ready to clean him up and apply more meds, afterwards I'll post another picture
Can someone tell me how to treat my poor rooster. He is kinda old about 5 years old ,has trouble walking but what I'm concerned with now is his swollen head,I came home to him barely breathing and head soaked in blood.his eyes are swollen shut.our other rooster got out and beat him up .what can I do to help him?
Should
We keep our two roosters separated because they will fight each other so we keep them separated and I had been gone overnight and I come home early the next morning and my son had already let the rooster out of the hen house with that and the other rooster that was in the pen somehow got loose somebody left their door open and he attacked my old rooster and I come home my old rooster was hiding by our barbecue with his head hit and I didn't know if he was alive or not he didn't look like it and so I pulled them out and he was still alive and he got beaten up from the other rooster was running around loose so am I I went and I gave him a warm bath and I tried to get to clean them up some but his head's all swelled up and his eyes are swollen shut and he's barely moving but he is moving it tiny bit and I I he drank some water from a little syringe I had he drank from that and now I just got them all bundled up and nice and warm in this soft little blankie and I just don't know if I should wrap his head because his head is so swollen his I've never seen it this swollen before yeah so I'm just I don't know if I should wrap his head or I don't know what to do I just I'm saddened by this he's my baby I just want to make him better and comfortable
Getting the eyes opened as suggested will help the most.Try to open his eyes. My guess is they are stuck together with dried blood. If you can open them then he can eat.
I will be sure and scramble him up some cooked eggs and will soak some dog food for him as well.I have been giving him blueberries as well he just loves his blueberries..A good diet to help him recover is cooked eggs, or soaked dog/cat food.
