Okay so,
I have this silkie hen and this silkie serama rooster.

I just bought the silkie hen, and she is separated from my other large chicken flock and by herself.

She just started laying eggs and stays in the brooder box with no heat lamp but it moved every evening to the duck pen right beside where the chickens free range where she can interact through fence.

ANYWAYS, I want fertilized eggs for her and don't want her to be lonely.. So I put him in the run with the silkie. At first they showed dominance, but now it seems to be like they are getting alone okay... Can I put him in the brooder box with her for the night?

PLEASE HELP!

I'd say you'll be fine ... I've never really worried about putting them together, at least not beyond the first half an hour or so. Sleeping together might help with the bonding process ... roosters like sleeping with their favourite hens!

The only way to know if it's going to work is to give it a try...

Thank you guys.. The hen and roster are fine now, but since mr. silkie serum isn't a purebred he can fly out of the run so they are in the brooder box till we finish their coop tonight lol... :D:D:D
