Interesting, thanks! I almost gave him away today before I realized how special he is. The AC's are still not cheap though. Greenfire Farms lists them for $400 and they are out of stock.

The female version of the Ameraucana that I have from the same batch lay the beautiful blue eggs. In the past I have had what I thought were Easter Eggers that layed more of a green colored egg.

Where did you get them? I don't believe he's one of the recognised colours of Ameraucana, but I'm hardly an expert. He could very possibly be someone's colour breeding project.

And EEs can lay blue eggs. It's rare, but it does happen.

Sorry--definitely an EE. No one sells Ameraucanas at feed stores.

Be happy. EEs are far nicer birds than purebred, puffed-up things that don't lay enough eggs.

Then he is an Easter Egger. Day old true Ameraucana chicks sell for around $18 from hatcheries.
