My daughter's cuddly Scully (hen) turned out to be a Mulder (cockerel). We can't have a Mulder. I need to get rid of him before he starts crowing, which he's already trying to do. He's already picking at the hens a bit. He's a Rhode Island Red and will turn 8 weeks old on Friday. It seems horrible, but I'll have to put him down this weekend if I can't find a home for him. The neighbors were all very supportive of us getting chickens, but they had to be hens only. I can only imagine what would happen if the a loud crow woke up the mostly retired neighborhood early in the morning.
