Rooster Love is So Cool

Here he is, in all of 8-week old glory. Weighs about 3 lbs, and has some pretty nice headgear for his age, I'd wager.

My cuddliest, most sociable and most interactive juveniles were all boys... I'm really sad that I couldn't keep any of them, but relieved that we parted ways before they turned into jerks, so I'll only remember them as being sweet and cuddly. Now I only have pullets left... They are 5 months old, and... well, I love them and all, but life is a whole lot more boring now that the boys are gone :( Such is the unfair way of chickens.

as a teenager i find this to be very insulting

also we got six 12 week old hens 3 months ago. we now think that one, pigeon is a roo. catching him is a nightmare but once you catch him he'll sit on my lap for ages.

he has long droopy tail feathers, long spurs and long and pointy neck feathers.
he has the smallest comb of the six but it looks like theres two smaller side comb growing as well. i think he's a red sexlink or production red. i will post a picture tomorrow as they're already sitting on their roost

Don't worry were opting for caponizing rather than culling you :p

Farm stores for adults are like candy stores for kids! I need to use a lot of restraint not to add more chickens when I go in. It’s soooo tempting, especially when they are on sale!!

i do hope pigeon is a hen. were not allowed roosters here in vancouver. i so hope we dont have to cull pigeon

I am a teenager too lol but we’re different. I absolutely love working outside and I hate tv and video games, most teens spend all day indoors and they have bad personalities a lot.
