Hello,
I need help as fast as possible. I had two roosters yesterday, but at night, I heard the rooster making a weird sound but I didn't bother because I thought he will sleep. But in the morning, I found a rooster dead.

Now it's night again, and the rooster is making that sound. I am not sure if it's the other rooster or the one that was making the sound yesterday, and I am not sure which one died.

Here is a video link:

Please help as soon as possible. Thank you.

Sorry that the other rooster died. This one sounds like he is gasping and sneezing or coughing. That can be due to a respiratory infection or disease. Does he have any bubbles/foam in his eye, swollen eyelid or face on one side, or drainage from his nostril or beak? How is the ventilation in your coop? Is there fresh air from side to side, and is there any mold or dust that may be affecting their breathing? Have you added any new birds recently from another place? If you can get some antibiotics such as oxytetracycline, Tylosin, or Tiamulin (Denagard or TiaGard,) you might be able to treat him in the water for a few days. Is that possible? I would make sure that his drinking fresh water and has plenty of fresh air, and his coop is not too hot or cool.

Hello. Thank you very much for your help. I woke up just now and it's around 2 pm so I will go back to sleep. But I saw from my window that the rooster is alive and is sleeping. I know it's alive because I saw it move.

As for the coop, their coop got broken long time ago because of the strong rain and wind, and we got very busy so we still couldn't build a new one. However, we fenced the whole place with a strong fence. The place generally doesn't have much animals as it is the garden of a home. I want to build a home for it but I can't find enough time for it especially that I have university everyday and my family is also busy.

I do have enough time to feed them and collect the eggs and check if anything is wrong and I sometimes put a chait and sit while reading a book but that is now rare as my university started.

I have recently bought 2 chickens which both currently look healthy. These chickens were bought from a shop for slaughtering meat so it's supposed to not have any illness, because if I remember correctly, here in Malaysia we have a rule where all animals to be slaughtered at a shop has to be checked for illness first and so it supposed to be healthy.

I will check for the signs of illness tomorrow.

I already woke up now and I basically fell asleep while typing the message yesterday :D

Today, he is at the corner near a tree sitting. He is still alive. I had to go to university but I can tell my father what to do. I am sure I have a medicine called tetracycline but I am not sure how many mg should I put. I can tell him to give him the medicine.
