Rooster Missing

I'm sorry about bob.

Sorry to hear of your lost boy...but did I miss something? Did you find his body? I thought you said there was no trace of him....seems like you'd find him nearby, unless perhaps the wicked BJ roo buried him to hide the evidence? (feeble attempt at humor

Since he was a bantam I'd suspect an aerial attack...you'd get no evidence.
I've lost a BCM pullet exactly the same way--no sign of her and all the others were nearby, but I did find a few feathers scattered--makes me think she was grabbed from above--it was not 15 feet from my house in broad daylight--the 4 legged predators don't come that close during the day with my dogs and cats close.
I also "lost" a BCW Polish hen--all the girls were in my back yard when the neighbors dog scared them, "Phyllis" was nervous to begin with, but I saw her after, then could not find her anywhere...until about 4 months later my husband found what was left of her in the barn, between bales of hay. Felt so bad for her to die trapped in the hay, but she never made a sound and somehow trapped herself in there, quite deeply (she really did have the stereotypical birdbrain...). Talk about feeling bad but no way to do anything...anyways, I hope things work out, but maybe B.J. was just a witness?
