I don't think he has Mareks, I'm praying he doesn't at least. But that is contagious and none of the others show symptoms. His waddling and slow movement is likely from his bumblefoot. I'm praying this also does not give him lasting health problems in the future. We got him from mc cackle hatchery I believe or another major hatchery. We did vaccinate the chicks when we ordered them but I don't remember what all the vaccinations were for exactly. Hoping they were vaccinated for mareks. We don't know about the younger flock though. We got them from a more local place that probably doesn't do vaccinations. My Silkie Rooster was having similar symptoms about 5 weeks ago. When his limp became worse and he was laying more than standing, I took him to a farm Vet. The Dr. Checked his stool and there was no Cocci. or parasites. He did see more bacteria than normal, so he gave him an antibiotic inj. (gave me the second dose to give 3 days later) and gave him B12 and steroid inj. My roo seemed a bit better, 1-2 days afterwards, but then back to laying around. He progressively got worse, unable to stand. After reading online, I suspected Marek’s disease (no cure and contagious to chickens. My Vet agreed and I had the Vet. put him to sleep. It broke my heart, as he and another Silkie hen were my 1st chickens since 1 day old. He was only 1 1/2 yr old. There is a vaccination for Marek’s but it has to be given within 24 hrs. of hatching.
Hopefully your roo doesn’t have Marek’s, but do separate him, regardless. Best of luck to you and your roo!
The bulge is on his vent area. I think it's because of the vent gleet. The poop is likely a green tint because of bile, not eating well.
Continue with the yeast treatment 2 times a day for 7 days.
I'd work on hydration and him eating his normal feed.
You mentioned a bulge. Where is the bulge?
I understand his keel is still prominent. This is not going to resolve overnight. It's going to take time to see if he improves.
Do the best you can.
