Rooster Not Crowing Right

Can't wait to hear my upcoming cockerel crow. He's been mating for weeks, but only saw him spar once and no attempts to crow. My husband said he tried yesterday. He said he thought it was a cat making weird sounds. I can't wait to hear it myself. They usually start out funny, then improve, but before long they usually have their lifelong crow, at least as I've seen of mine.

Handsome fellow!
I have raised 4 roosters. They will develop different crows as they age, also depending on their experiences around other animals vocalizing, including human voice. If you listen carefully you will notice that each crow not only sounds different, it comes at different times of the day and means different things. Not too different from your dog's barking, howls, or crying. I know when my "Frito" is saying "Good Mo-o-o-rning" or "I'm hungry" or "I want out".
Even hens will learn certain vocalizations to express what they want or like.
