Rooster or hen?

Still a beginner with chickens so not too sure with this one! Gimpy is about 4.5 months, I'm guessing EE/ameraucana/who knows what mix. I read that with pea combs the males have3 rows of bumps but this guy just looks like he has a bunch of bumps all over, no rows. What ya think? No crowing or anything yet.

I would think there would be a lot more comb and wattles on a rooster at 4.5 months. How accurate is thT age?

The long, thin, pointed feathers on the back are male saddle feathers. He's definitely a cockerel.

Corwassen87 Actually, He hatched the last week of February, so 5 months now.

Starmekritten that's what had me starting to question the gender. But "he" doesn't seem to have that rooster demeanor nor any crowing going on, while others his age are. :/

Thanks for your input... Lol I'll be keeping an eye out for any other signs

You cant always use size or shape of comb for gender. This Malay roo has a similar type comb although yours looks more walnut.
