Is this a Rooster? 2nd pic rooster/hen? 1st pic hen. They're a little over 6 months old.

ok well. EXITING news they were both in the nest box and layed their first eggs today! So both pullets. I would like to add a rooster to my old/young flock soon. And I'm thinking Salmon Faverolles are good friendly rooster breed. Any other suggestions for good rooster breeds?

depends on what you want. Colorful? Certain breed? Certain genetics (egg color gene, size)? In our case my spouse wants a colorful/attractive rooster. We currently have a BJG, so very large, pretty green iridescent feathers, but all black. Spouse would like more color, so we have a 6 month old GLW male learning his place, and 3.5 month old Dorking and BJG males. Next spring or summer we will make the switch to one of these younger males - currently the Dorking is hitting the mark for color and looks according to spouse. We’ve had other males but gotten rid of some due to personality or looks. If you can swing it, you should look for a cockerel closer to a year or a rooster over a year ... you’ll get a better sense of their personality then and less of their raging immature hormones, wreaking havoc in the flock.
