It's kind of hard but i'm leaning a little towards the roo side. Don't go by what you hear on this site though (no offense posters) because I thought my silkie was a roo due to people telling me so and I got rid of it for fear it might start crowing in my no rooster neighborhood. I later spoke to the hatchery asking if it turned out to be a rooster and they said it was a hen.

They can't both be roosters. That's what is so confusing.

Sunshine is a boy.

Pip is a girl.


Cockerals that are low in the pecking order will often hide, that could explain why you've found "her" on the nest.

I raise BOs. Sunshine is a Roo. Pip is a Pullet. I've had a few fool me till the last minute too.

You could always separate them for one day and see which one lays. I am pretty sure Sunshine is a male. Those thick legs and tail feathers. It's just so much bigger than my BO hen.
