i liked this thread i have 5 roos to 10 hens they all free range and get along barely ever hear a crow i live out in the middle of nowhere the only neighbor we have close enough to hear the chickens rents off us i ask him if it bothers him just to be nice but in reality not much he could do but move out he says no he likes the sound says it reminds him of when he was younger and his grandparents had chickens they go down by his trailer alot and he says he enjoys waching them but they are calm and docile my sizes very from my little sebright roo to a giant 2ft tall barred rock and they all get along great

hers a pick of my standard sexlink and my banty EE eating my dads birdseed off window sill the sexlink is in charge of my flock but unusually calm i think its becouse he has been missing 2toes since we got him but is tuff and wont be pushed around by my other roos just dosnt go out of his way to get into fights as long as everybodey knows hes the boss

Henry, thanks for the update. I'm really glad that things have calmed down a bit and it looks so positive on your end. I hope that things continue to go so well. I went back and looked at the pictures because I remembered that I thought they were so beautiful, but when I saw them I'd forgotten just how beautiful! They really are gorgeous! It's great that their doing their job so well also.
Keep up the good work boys!

My black jersey also crows the entire day but I live in the country and my neighbor doesn't mind, I have competition crowing going on all over our yard. My LF Salmon Fav. never crowed even though the spitz was doing it from morning till night, until he found out that both the fav's and the spitz girls liked him better because he was nicer. I have total of 4 roos outside and it does get noisey at times but we deal for know. A few of them will be heading to the freezer soon due to faults. Oh I forgot I also hatched 4 mutt eggs and guess what...today being my day off had 3 out of 4 crowing at 6am. Yeah for us NOT. so sad they will also be heading for freezer (does that make me mean
