Rooster puffed up

Just cleaned the cage out looking for any worms and didn't see any. I know they get digested too. There are several green poops. Looks like mostly grass strands in them. There was a wet brown poop so maybe they are fixing to turn from green to brown which is a good sign.

I am waiting to see a good pile of brown roosting poop before I return him back to his ladies. Does that sound ok to do?

Looking at some threads, I bet it was an impacted gizzard since there hasn't been all that much green poop. I didn't know the gizzard could be impacted. I don't know if I said but I have been giving Docusate Sodium instead of oil. The impacted gizzard could also be a side effect from a worm load too.

A possibility I thought of was the rooster was sick and not eating (proven by the weight loss) that when he got hit with enough Corid, he became thiamine deficient (shaking of the head and limping of the foot).

If you are seeing grass in there and he's not had grass since you caged him, then yes, I would agree the gizzard/intestines could have been partially blocked. Worms would have contributed as well.
Stool softener was a good choice, I've used that before and it helped quite a bit.
Yes, I would be looking for more normal poop too!
Sounds like he's making progress!

His tail has came back up to normal. The poop is slowly becoming more and more each day. It is still mostly green with grass with a tiny amount of brown wet poop every so often. It kinda looks like he was eating mostly grass and then eat just a tiny amount of chicken feed, then repeat. I'll try to get a pic if things don't clear up before I get to it.

Oh yes, he is definitely improving. I think as soon as he poops the last of the green grass out he will be out of the woods. He is still pooping green with some brown here and there. Just waiting until that time.

I let him back out with the other chickens for the day today so he could move around. I wanted to see what he was pooping at night so my plan was to bring him back to the cage at night then go from there. I picked him off the roost and his crop is empty. He didn't fill it up before he roosted. I do see him eat some here and there. He does have plenty of energy so it's not like he is weak from not eating. Does this sound normal after an impaction?
