Rooster question

I have an 8-week old Americana rooster, 8 week old Americana hen, and 4 adult hens. I don't want them mating. I know that it is unrealistic and that it will probably happen when he's older, but is there any way to not let it happen.

I see what you mean. He's really nice, and I would feel bad. I have a really mean Orpington hen who is the boss. Do you think if she traumatises him, he won't try anything?

I don't want the girls being messed up (I show them.) Also, just ugggh!

Then move him to another home, or have a show flock and a regular flock, separately housed.

There’s no guarantee that he’ll “mess up” your hens.
