I removed my roosters spurs yesterday. This morning they are bright red with blood. He is a Salmon Faverolle. I used the blood stop when I removed the spurs. He appeared to be fine afterwards. Will they heal on their own or should I try to stop the bleeding?

Cut off or twist off the nail?

If cut off, I’d probably stop. Twisted will be a seep.

This is precisely why I won’t remove Spurs. Taking 1/4” off the end to blunt them maybe.

if it won't stop bleeding dip the foot in corn starch or flour then wash that off after a bit and apply blue kote

I did the twist and sprayed blukote on. The next morning they were still a little wet so I dumped an insane amount of corn starch on which stopped the bleeding.
