Rooster spurs?

Rainbow eggs, i thought this was the best way when i began my research of what to do about spurs but as i continued it started to make sense to me when people would say that it was like a fingernail and why would you want to rip a finger nail off with clippers or a potato from a rooster when you wouldn't want it done to you? There was never anything mentioned about whether there was pain or not which really bothered me. Should'nt that matter to people? The fact that you put your rooster in it's pen because you wanted it to quiet down makes me wonder why it was making noise in the beginning makes me wonder why you wouldn't think it was i pain. I don't care if this seems more professional. Being "proffesional" don't matter that much to me. I would rather do it the more non-painful, humane way.

I do have to say that this is just my opinion and i didn't mean for it to sound the way it may have. I was just wondering if anyone has really thought about this. I do find that if you are going to remove the spurs and your dead set on it that that would be the least painful way to do it. Sorry if it came on a little strong, just voicing my opinion.

I sent a vidoe on how a guy does it by removing the spur by pushing it in and giving it a twirl.

My choice at the time was baking a potatoe in the microwave and placing it on the spur (not too close to the skin) waiting awhile, twisting gently then pulling the spur off which leaves a tiny new spur which will grow out in time.

If theres bleeding, just put some cornstarch on it. I had some minor bleeding which I covered with a pad and vetwrap and put him in a cage so that he wouldn't get it dirty and I wanted him to be quiet for awhile until he was back to normal. No big deal. It's a lot more professional to remove the spur than to just snip away at it.
