Spurs from our 3 year old Rooster Festus, We built a more secure coop so I decided to remove them for his comfort while walking, but these were his dagers of death, He has killed 2 squirrels, 1 possum, and hurt the neighbours scottish terrier, but he is the best Rooster I have ever had around my kids he will even protect them, thats how the terrier got his butt whooped he came up barking at my daughter while she was on the swing set and Festus thought the dog was a threat to my daughter.

Hail to Festus!! He is an awesome protector!! I've had roosters like this before and they are worth their weight in gold! So protective.......everything you want in a husband!!! Keep him close to the yard.

Wow. Big. Spurs.

Just have someone hold the Rooster then hold one leg at a time, place a pair of pliers around the spur close to the leg and slowly twist, kinda like removing a bottle top and the come right off, very little or no blood, then we spray some wound care on it just for percautionary purposes.

I thought they could bleed to death if you did that, that they aren't fingernails, but actually bones? Obviously not. I am confused....
