My rooster stopped crowing 3 days ago and I can hear a little noise in his breathing. He is eating and drinking like normal. I wormed them all as a precaution. They normally get to free range but we have a coyote problem at the moment and so they have been locked in their run. I don't really have a place to isolate him from the rest of the flock. Any suggestions?

Has it been wet and rainy where you live? Mold, dust from feed or bedding, ammonia odors from droppings, excessive heat in coops, and not enough ventilation can contribute to respiratory diseases in chickens. Those can cause voice changes or noisy breathing such as wheezing or rattles. If he develops nasal drainage, eye drainage or crusts, or worsening symptoms, you may want to treat him with some antibiotics. Tylan 50 injectable can be given to only him 1 ml orally once or twice a day for 5 days. You will need 20 needles and syringes to get the medicine out of the vial.

It has been very rainy here. I clean their coop everyday. I will watch him and use antibiotics if he gets worse. Thanks so much for the info, really appreciate it.
