Crowing
Could be gout, maybe? I know chickens can get it like people. My husband has it really bad and the swelling on your roosters feet looks like when a human foot swells up with it.

If it were gout you could try tart cherry juice, that's a common otc for humans. Allopurinol is a prescription only med for humans and I thought I read chickens can have it but i am not sure where you could get it for them.DO you know how to treat it in chickens? Poor thing won't even walk.
This is more than bumblefoot as there are a cut and an injured toe as well. He might have got tangled up when fighting through the fence and even have a strain trauma.Over look the BluKote this is where the bumble was. And one of him semi-standing when we put him in the pen. He took two steps and sit down. His scales on his legs are raising up so we washed his legs today and scrubbed with a toothbrush then coated them with Vaseline.

Gout is a build up of uric acid that turns into crystals and migrates to the joints. It is very debilitating and my husband suffers immensely when a flare strikes. The swelling looks really similar on the bird foot.
But I am not sure if your rooster has gout just offering an observation that might help![]()

Be careful not to block the blood circulation when wrapping the foot. The toe that looks scabbed over it. My husband used sticky tape to hold the gauze and it irradiated his toe.
In people it can be one foot, both feet, or any joint in the body in addition. Would think in chickens it could be either/orIt is just his one foot the other is fine. I read that gout occurs in both with chickens but I am not sure how true that is.
