Rooster To Hen Ratio. Should Sherman get New Hens to choose From???

Wow!! I have the 5 roos like i said and 3 crow like it's a contest! also all 3 take advantage of all the girls at leisure. the two white ones don't crow and wondered why! Now i know! So basically i have 3 alpha males-is this possible! they don't fight at all! The one that i am going to keep though is hawkeye since he always gives his treats to the ladies. He's a love bucket!!

Roosters have their own pecking order, completely seperate from the hens. I would say that of those top three roos you have one is the alpha, but the others are respectful of that so there's no fighting. The other two are more than likely the lowest two on the totem pole and one of the top three has made that clear to them. Hens will bow to the wishes of the alpha roo, but they will also give low-ranking roos a hard time.​

Poor General Sherman, he is definately the low ranking roo. Elvis doesn't go after him. The hens do. I guess Elvis set the rules and that's that. He doesn't need to say anymore.

Elvis has been crowing and strutting his stuff for weeks now. We're talking 14 week old chickens. Elvis has been ahead of the rest from the beginning.
