Rooster waddles swollen and purple. Please help!

This is our first rooster and his first winter here in Wisconsin. I'm not sure if this is frostbite or not. We've only had a few below freezing days, the coop has been dry and ventilated well. But his waddles are purple and look swollen. He was hen raised so he is very cautious of us and I still haven't been able to pet him. So trying to catch him and bring him in the garage is not going to be an easy task. Any advise for what I can do for him?

Yes, that appears to be frostbite on his wattles and on a couple of comb tips. Apply some Vetericyn spray or Neosporin ointment to the dark areas gently. You might try using a waterer that his wattles cannot dip into when he drinks. Sometimes this is very hard to prevent. The dark parts of his wattles and the tip of his comb may become rounded off. Thanks for the links. I would assume it's from when he drinks. I'll have to look into a new waterer for him. Any suggestions in them? I've only touched him twice. He's not going to be easy to get ointment onto. I just feel so bad for him

Above is our rooster a couple of days ago - I'm very concerned as the waddles are horribly swollen and I'm worried the tissue is becoming necrotic. If anyone has experience with frostbite on the waddles please respond!!!

I have had some frostbite in a couple of rooster's wattles. I usually don't do anything, since my roosters have not liked to be handled. They have healed without treatment.
