Tonight my my 9 month old blue ameraucana cockerel chased my year old white rock roo into a corner and pecked the back of his neck bloody. I chased him off and the roo just layed there in a still lump of bloody feathers. I ran for a dog crate to put him in and when I got back he was back in the woods digging around but visibly upset& bloody at the base of his red comb. I left him to sleep in the coop with the flock and will check him out in the morning. I guess this means I need to find a home for one of the roos or do I take a chance and see if they work it out?
I want to be a responsible flock manager.

If he's bloody, he needs to be seperated immediately. Chickens are cannibalistic. They see the blood on that roo and everyone will join in at pecking him, to the death.
How many hens do you have? Is it enough for both roos? They might work it out, especially if the subordinate one has plenty of roo to avoid the alpha, but there's also a good chance that the fighting will continue until they are permanently seperated.
