Thanks so much for your update keep them coming.

Glad to hear everything is ok. I have found Melaluca is the greatest ointment to heal cuts...if you can find some.

The problem with having an aggressive rooster like that is that you don't want to breed for that and lets remember that there is always some hen that finds a nest of eggs somewhere and wants to sit on them and raise them. Now you have chicks that come from an aggressive line. I want my roosters to court my hens and to be gentlemen.

If I get a rooster that finds a favorite hen and won't leave her alone, I get some Vicks vapor Rub and put just a dab on her head where he bites and hangs on. He gets a mouthful of that and will leave her alone for quite a while.

She ate a bunch on her own this morning as well...freshly made scrambled egg/milk slurry seems to be her new favorite meal. And...of course...she crapped all over her playpen too from all the food she ate yesterday. The poop is runny (she's on a liquid diet obviously) but its back to normal coloration...no more green & yellow.

The wound continues to close up as well.

WOW. WOW. That is pretty terrible looking! I'm so glad she is doing better!!

I had a raccoon tear up one of my roosters when I first put them outside. I too thought he wasn't going to make it. The raccoon had tore his back open to the backbone about 7" long and 3" wide area. I put him in our spare bathroom and used Hibenclens (chlorhexadine surgical scrub--what the vet uses for wounds) on the wound every 2 days and then irrigated it with warm tap water daily (just ran him under it faucet for about 5 minutes). I didn't use any ointments because those can generally trap bacteria particals and may not allow enough air to get to the tissue. Everyone has their own way of doing things

He healed up within 2 weeks and even grew new feathers over it. Looks like nothing ever happened to him. Chickens heal really well as long as they stay healthy.

Much luck to you!!

ETA: antibiotics can kill off a lot of the good gut bacteria as well, so I wouldn't be alarmed about the poop change, maybe try supplementing with yogurt that has active cultures in it (most have it these days) and the poo issue should clear up.
