I have a young rooster with a broken tail bone. Gizzard area was swollen in the x-Ray indicating neurological damage. Vet said there was nothing to do but keep him confined with plenty of feed and water. She said to give him 10 days to see improvement. It has been two weeks and he has no use of his right leg but is alert and eating. I was wondering if any one has dealt with this and if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

I'm sorry you are having trouble.
You may want to consult your vet again, to see if they have any other suggestions.

Was he injured initially or do you think it is a genetic defect?
How old is your cockerel?

Thanks for your input. He is 5 months old. I think it must be an injury, but he is in a safe inclosed area with 9 hens. He's the only rooster. I don't know what happened.
