Rooster knee swollen

Hello, I have a rescue rooster that was attacked and now has a swollen knee and limps. I have taken him to the vet. He is on a strong antibiotic and pain meds. This is his second round. Can anyone give more information on if fluid can be drained or anything further that I can do? The vet is not really educated on poultry and only knows a little about them. I put up x rays the one on right is from June when he was attacked. The left is in October.

Poor guy, I hope he's able to get better soon. B vitamin supplement may help. I don't know if the fluid can be drained or what other advice to give. Perhaps @Eggcessive @azygous @Wyorp Rock can help.

Since this edema is coincident to the brawl he was in, we can assume it's an injury and not from a virus. An anti-inflammatory and restriction of activity are the best ways to treat it.

With rest, it should heal in six weeks or less.
