Hi everyone. This is my rooster,

Jerry. I got him from a farm after seeing how much trouble he was having when trying to walk. He had bumblefoot & leg mites when I first got him. I took care of that and although he still had a hard time walking, it was much easier for him. The swelling of his legs when down a lot, his feet kind of stayed the same though. I've had him for about a year now and he is once again having an extremely hard time walking, it has gotten really bad within this past week. I picked him up yesterday to take a look at his feet and this is what I found. Any advice?

try an Epsom salt soak or a saline soak? it looks like it could be a bacterial infection though. I have had good luck using borax in water as an antibacterial agent. put 1\2 teaspoon of borax in 2 cups of water and soak his feet in it. extreme cases of leg mites can cause a lot of long term damage. I had a couple of bantam roosters that came with a crazy load of leg mites, the mites had actually worked all the way down to the bone on some of their toes and they ended up losing a couple toes because the mites had cut the circulation off

Is that nasty lump new or left from when you got him?
Man, it's big...been growing awhile.

It's new. I was thinking the same thing though. That foot was always super big but I just recently noticed the growth. Is it going to need to be removed?
