Rooster with severe coordination/balance issues

Done and done. I just tubed 20ml of Kaytee parrot formula with his Vitamin E and B12.
He fought me more this time. Could be because he knew what was coming, but I’d like to believe it was because he was more alert since the fluids. I’m going to be optimistic and pin it on that. He took it great and it went really well.

Thanks everyone! I’ll do my best to keep this thread updated.

He seems to be doing about the same today. Still can’t stand but hanging in there. I’m about to tube him in a moment. If my window for tubing him is 3:30 and later, how many times can I tube him in that time frame daily? And how how? I’ve seen don’t exceed 23ml, but I’ve also seem don’t exceed 23ml per pound of body weight. Which is correct, and with my schedule how much should I be tubing how many times per afternoon?
Lastly, how does water fit into that process? Should I always tube water first, or is the soupy Kaytee enough.

Thanks so much for the help with all my questions, I really appreciate it.

Update:
For the last week I’ve been giving Sam 60ml of Kaytee formula twice a day, along with 40ml of water. I’ve been giving enough formula and water so it feels like his crop is relatively full. I’ve also been giving the vitamin E and B12 daily.

I haven’t seen much improvement. He was getting closer to standing on his own, but now it seems like we’ve hit a plateau. At the moment he still can’t stand, and is pretty weak.

I’ve also noticed it doesn’t seem like his crop is emptying properly. I fed him last night at about 8, and went to feed him again today at 12 and his crop hasn’t emptied. I haven’t fed him yet this morning because of it.

Am I feeding him enough daily? I can’t feed him before 3pm on weekdays, so twice is about the best I can do between 3 and 8. Can I give more than the 60ml if that’s not enough?
What about the crop issue? He has been pooping and his crop has been emptying, but very slowly.

Thanks for the help guys

I just weighed him, he’s 6.8lbs which isn’t much heavier if at all since I weighed him a few days ago. It hasn’t dropped, but hasn’t gained to much either. Though I didn’t record the decimal last time. He’s an RIR cross for reference, so he’s really really light.
At 6.8 pounds, he needs at least 150 ml of fluids per day. How much has he been getting?

I’ve been doing 40ml of straight fluids one or twice daily, and then im not sure how much is mixed into the Kaytee, but probably not enough to hit 150ml.

Should I do 60ml of Kaytee and 60ml of straight water each feeding? Twice a day that would be 120ml of water, plus how ever much is mixed with Kaytee which should hit 150ml.
