Hello!

For the past two days, my rooster has been holding his neck in an odd position, I will attach a picture. He is unsteady and is very slow when walking. He’s not drinking on his own and he doesn’t seem to have much of an appetite either. He seems reluctant to reach down or groom properly like he can’t reach his tail or wings. Occasionally he opens his beak wide to breathe. He’s not crowing at all.

He has severe crossbeak and is normally handfed a mix of regular chicken feed and egg. Droppings look normal.

I’ve never seen anything like this before, does anyone recognize it?

My boy turns four in August. He’s very dear to me so any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. <3

I’ve not seen a cross beak that bad in pictures before. He might have a skeletal deformity as well that is making his spine deformed. You may want to learn to tube feed him. Baby lamb feeding tubes and syringes are available on amazon, and many use KayTee Exact bird feed which will go through the tube mixed in water. If you get a weight in him, you would aim for 15 ml (1/2 ounce) of liquid per pound of weight 2 or 3 times a day. It only takes a few minutes to feed a whole meal, and then remove the tube. There are some good videos available online. Here are some links and videos:
