Rooster won't keep bandage on/bumblefoot

My Polish rooster has a mild case of bumble for, I've been treating it, but every time I bandage it no matter what I do he manages to take it off. I'm worried about infection if he doesn't keep it on. Any tips??

There are shoes for chickens, they work with Velcro, maybe try that?
Just did a quick search, I am sure there may be other/better booties

That looks like an excellent option. I'm looking at them and the only question I can come up with and I'm looking for in the reviews is if it affects their ability to perch.

It may or may not affect the ability to perch. How'd it go last night?
You can temporarily or permanently add a 2x4 as a perch if you wish.
Personally, I've never had problems with hens or rooster's perching on 2x2's after bumblefoot surgery.
