Hi,
I'm writing here in hopes to get some help from the great people here!
Starting from the beginning, this rooster had a really bad case of mites that we somehow missed for quite sometime.
When we realized there was a problem, he was already limping pretty badly but was still standing up, etc.
We started treating him ASAP for mites (Vaseline, ivermectin) which worked pretty well but bumblefoot was already there. A bunch of spots here and there but nothing I couldn't fix since they weren't that bad.
But things got weird pretty quickly.
One or two days goes by and he is full NOPE with this leg. I didn't think much first, but now he won't stretch it also, he does not stand up anymore.
If I try to stretch this leg (please note, I didn't pull it with a lot of strength) you can feel there is a lot of resistance and pain from him.
I'm massaging his knee joint after a warm bath daily and trying to very lightly stretch it, but no progress is being made.
I can move and rotate the leg in all directions, but the knee part only moves a few inches before I can feel the resistance and see his uncomfortable moves. It's almost like it is paralyzed.
I cannot see fractures and there aren't any hot spots I could feel.
There is no knot on the joint.
His other leg is somewhat strong and I'm doing physical therapy daily to keep it that way.
Sure, his legs are still healing from mites and bumblefoot is still there as I treat it, but what happened there? Why would he suddenly not use this leg?
Is there a way I can diagnose this better?
Should I fully stretch the leg in hopes I will do some good?
Please, advise. I'll bring any new info you need or anything I missed.
Thanks very much for reading!
