Rooster?

Is the correct term cockerel? I think I was duped. As it gets older this sure seems like a male chicken. My wife has said it was crowing the last 2 mornings.

Large tails, large combs, thick legs, and long pointy feathers coming off their neck and back mean it's a rooster. He's very pretty, but 100% male.

You from Nebraska by any chance? ;) the "Husker" in your name caught my eye.

Yes God made my blood red. GO BIG RED ! I will be at SF 1st game next weekend.
 
Haha! Duped, all right! That’s a roo/cockerel if I’ve ever seen one! Never heard of a crowing hen! Funny post!

*(Males are called cockerels until they’re over a year old- and females are called pullets. Then they switch to roosters and hens.)
