Yep, that's a cockerel.. they don't earn their rooster badge until a year old. Young hens are known as pullets before a year old also.

My other rooster got attacked by a fox so while he’s recovering inside, this little guy has decided to start crowing!

I suggest keeping them in SIGHT of each other at least.. or all holy heck might break loose when you try to return him. Dog kennel in the run shade work well, usually.

I sectioned off a part of the run for him so they can see him. Yesterday and today the others immediately tried to get to him and fight him through the wire. Is that okay? Do you think they’ll calm down after a few more days?
