Attached is a photo of my neighbor's rooster's foot. Can anyone help with diagnosing and treatment for this poor fellow? He can barely walk and needs immediate relief.
looks like a really bad case of Bumble, and his toenails probably need trimmed.
you should soak the foot to soften the scab, then take off the scab and carefully squeeze, like you're popping a big zit. that's basically what bumble foot is, it's an infection caused by dirt getting into an injury and causing a small infection.
I would soak the feet for 15 minutes in warm soapy water with Betadine or a bit of chlorhexidene. Dry well and take another picture. If there is any yellow pus, clean it off. Apply some antibiotic ointment twice a day. The nails are curling in weird ways, so the foot could have been deformed. Right now, I wonder if the lesion is a skin cancer (squamous cell) or an old injury.
