He won't let me get close enough to get a proper picture of his coloring. He's got dark red splotches through some of his feathers. He's gorgeous, and so good with chicks. He makes pretty offspring too. My first entry, Goldilocks, is his son.

I noticed Goldilocks as well - what a striking bird! The upright and voluminous tail plumage is a trait I really like in a rooster but unfortunately as you can see my roo is lacking in that department and makes up for it with a frostbite-prone comb and wattles!
